12/03/11 GVI Capternay Charitable Trust Fundraising Event

Saturday March 12th GVI Cap Ternay held a fundraising event at the Eish Bar on Eden Island. The evening was organised as part of GVI's commitment to the Charitable Trust and to raise money for the President's Village Children's Home.

The President's Village based in Port Glaude is home to around fifty children of all ages. The staff who work there do an excellent job with the children but are in need of funds to make improvements to the home and purchase books and school uniforms.

To raise funds, GVI Cap Ternay organised a barbecue and raffle evening. With homemade cheeseburgers, hotdogs and a variety of Creole salads staff and volunteers spent a busy Saturday morning making the final preparations.

Several businesses in the Seychelles generously donated prizes for the raffle and a huge thanks goes to Big Blue Divers, the Underwater Centre, Doubleclick, Sports & Fashion World, Save Our Seas, Cat Cocos, La Belle Vie,Tequila Boom and of course Eish Bar.

The evening was a huge success with the burgers proving to be especially popular. A large number of people turned out and all generously bought several raffle tickets. By the end of the night we had managed to raise over $700 for the children's home.

It was a fantastic evening, enjoyed by all, and we would like to thank everyone involved for making it happen.
