25/01/12 Megafauna Madness!

This week we have been treated to amazing diving and a number of encounters with some of the Indian Ocean’s Megafauna. Sunday produced a nurse shark sightin, as well as a couple of whitetip reef sharks. Then following the dive a few lucky volunteers had the opportunity to snorkel with a sailfish as the magnificent creature circled our dive boat.

Monday and Tuesday brought more sightings of whitetip reef sharks, green and hawksbill turtles and devil rays. Just when we thought the week could not get any better, on Thursday while undertaking our weekly turtle dives a whaleshark was spotted cruising over the reef. Not usually found in Seychelles waters at this time of year the four metre shark swam slowly around the divers before making his way out of the bay and into the deep.

What a fantastic week of diving and we can’t wait to see what the next week brings!
