20/02/13 Update from Cap Ternay
The new volunteers have settled
in by now and the original ones are getting busy with their research
surveys. We have been lucky enough to go
on some 'fun dives' too and have our first 'turtle dive' tomorrow.
We all had an amazing time at
Creole Day in this last week, which involves us visiting the Presidents Village
Orphanage, to play games, do arts and crafts and go swimming/snorkelling. The children had so much fun and the smiles
on their faces will be an image that will stay with us for a long time! Next
week is our main fundraiser for the orphanage so if you haven't already dug
deep and donated then the link is www.justgiving.com/capTcharitychallenge.
Some of us rented cars this
weekend which was a great opportunity to see more of Mahe, some of the driving
skills were a little scary at times but we all made it back to base in one
piece! We had a presentation from the
Save Our Seas charity, they do incredible conservation and research work
worldwide. Check out their website!
