13/08/13 Loving Expedition Life
One week in
paradise passes quickly; especially if your days are charged with beautiful
dives, studying various colorful fish and helping out in the kitchen. Getting
up at 6 am doesn’t seem at all too bad when you can call a marvelous beach your
office.
All of us new
people on camp successfully completed our advanced diving course and hopefully
soon we can surveying the marine life around us. During this first week we also
had some time to explore the secret beach of Bay Ternay and hike the Cap Matoopa
for its breathtaking scenery. Climbing the rocks and trying to find your way up
through bushes and spider webs you certainly start feeling like Robinson
Crusoe. Once on top, the untouched nature around you and the colorful pattern
of the coral reef beneath make you realize that you are in one of the most
beautiful places in the world. I believe we are all very happy to share this
experience and I hope we can greatly contribute to the efforts of GVI and its
partnering organizations in the following weeks.
I wish everybody
had the chance to take part in such an enlightening and horizon broadening trip
and spread awareness of sustaining marine environments. I am definitely looking
forward to every single second of my days on base!
