Unquenchable thirst for knowledge....

Another week has flown by in the Seychelles, the surveys are well on the way to completion and there is a huge sense of satisfaction to see our groups daily accomplishments. It is starting to dawn on us all that we do not have much time left in the Seychelles so we are making the most of the time we have left. Raph and Elias have been spending some of their free time perfecting their surfing techniques without a board!

Most of the 5 weeker's have now successfully passed the fish exams and have started methodolgy practise and actual surveys.

Tom still loves to hang onto his fish book and can regularly be found sharing his knowledge with others. Some of the 10 weeker's have also started studying coral as Linds the science co-coordinator has been great at giving extra presentations for those interested. The thirst for further knowledge seems to be unquenchable for most....

The kitchen duty groups this week have been particularly good with new bread fruit recipes appearing. The seeds we recently planted in the garden are coming along nicely, however they will not be ready before we leave - we hope that the following group will have the opportunity to try the home grown chilies and tomatoes.

We have been kept busy this week brainstorming for a Regatta which is held annually in Beau Vallon. We will be spending time this weekend raising money for various local charities. The creative side of many has been shining through in an effort to make things to sell at the regatta. Raphaelle, Duncan, Tom and Richard are all going to participate in a sponsored 10 km run for charity - we will be cheering them on - they may need it as the roads up the mountains are pretty steep! We will keep you posted on the outcome. Till next week.......
