14/03/13 Another Busy Week at Cap Ternay
It has been an
active few weeks here at Cap Ternay. Surveys were completed for coral, fish and
invertebrates from various sites surrounding base. Unfortunately it was the
last week for some of our most beloved volunteers including the four weekers:
Maya, Rolf, Melanie and Kais, and the twelve weekers: Fabienne, Billy, Lauren
and Mary. They will be missed dearly for their surveying skills and all around
fabulous presence here at Cap Ternay.
However, with
every cloud there is a silver lining and the new arrivals provided that
ingredient! An original group arrived on Saturday composed of ten volunteers
from various places around the world. All have started settling in and have
started their advanced open water. There will certainly be great things to come
from this group!
On Monday our
reliable Manta boat was not so reliable and needed to be repaired. Instead of
diving everyone went for a snorkel where a White Tip Shark was seen. After the
snorkel a game of volleyball was had by all, it was a very active day even
without diving. Luckily on Tuesday we were all back in the water either
surveying or working on our advanced open water. We are all looking forward to
another week of diving and getting to know each other better.
Best wishes,
Victoria Beasley
